Right along with Google’s Nexus S announcement came the newest iteration of the Android operating system. Android 2.3 Gingerbread is now a sure thing and the SDK is out for all the developers to play around with.
Google’s calling it the fastest version of Android yet but it’s a little more than that. That includes tons of improvements for game development (Sony Ericsson’s Playstation Phone anyone?), video calling using the front camera, improved cut and paste as well as a totally redesigned keyboard that supports multitouch. All this along with great VoIP integration and SIP, NFC, gyroscope support, an improved download manager and an integrated task manager.
Have I got your taste buds going yet? It’s headed towards the Nexus One soon and of course ships with the recently announced Nexus S. Think they missed something? Can’t wait? Check below for all the details and a quick video summary by Google.
